The requests for low energy consumption, short dead-cycle time, performance reliability and repeatability expressed by Extrugasa led to a concentration of technologically advanced solutions which will make the new press the new benchmark in aluminium extrusion.
Improved energy savings in the range of 5-40% according to the extruded alloys, with a reduced installed power of -15 to -20%, better cosφ, higher dynamic response and longer pump life are obtained by means of the new oil-hydraulic/electric circuit ESED II.
ESED II is the latest Energy Saving Electrical Drive, combining Variable Displacement Pumps and Variable Frequency Drive (VP+VFD), with electrically driven movements during dead-cycle time, starting the new NRG family.
Faster and smoother acceleration and deceleration ramps will reduce shocks to the mechanical parts and foundations while inverter driven motors offer much easier maintenance compared to brushless type motors.
Fisrt extruded billet is scheduled by Sept. 2017
With a production capacity of over 27,000 tpy, Extrugasa is a front-runner in the production of special alloys for the aluminium sector in Spain and Europe.
