Reviving Small-Scale Mines in Iran's Copper Sector

According to me-metals cited by Mes Press, Speaking at a meeting to review the status of these mines, Dr. Seyed Mostafa Faiz emphasized the need for a shift in management mindset, stating that revitalizing small-scale mines requires adopting a comprehensive approach to reactivate them.
He identified the creation of a comprehensive database of qualified operators and investors — alongside the collection and rigorous analysis of technical and economic data regarding mines — as the foundation for decision-making in this sector, adding that the issuance of targeted calls to attract investors would depend on access to such accurate and reliable data.
The CEO of the National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) also emphasized the importance of selecting operators who possess the necessary qualifications, managerial competence, and operational capabilities, stating that success in activating these mines hinges on identifying and engaging capable operators as strategic partners of the company.
He also pointed to the necessity of effective cooperation among all pillars of the government and stakeholders.
