Mobarakeh Steel is ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in a joint special industrial zone

me-metals - Saeed Zarandi, CEO of Mobarakeh Steel Group, said at the Investment Opportunities Conference and Business Meeting (B2B) between economic activists and the private sector of Iran and Afghanistan: "First of all, I would like to thank the Minister of Interior of the Islamic Republic of Iran for providing this opportunity for the participation of investable companies and us in this meeting. As the CEO of Mobarakeh Steel Group from Iran and the largest steel sheet producer in the Middle East, which includes a complete chain from mining to the final product, I declare my readiness to have joint partnerships with Afghanistan."

According to me-metals, Saeed Zarandi, CEO of Mobarakeh Steel Group, added at the Investment Opportunities Conference and Business Meeting (B2B): "Both countries have high capacities in the field of mining and mineral industries, Iran has made significant progress in the field of steel industry, and Iran's steel production capacity has exceeded 54 million tons over the past 10 years, which is due to the government's permission for the presence of various private sector investors. Mobarakeh Steel Group is operating in all parts of Iran; Mobarakeh Steel has a production capacity of 18 million tons of pellets, 11 million tons of steel ingots (100% utilization of production capacity), and more than 8 million tons of steel sheets."

He said: "Based on the order of the Minister of the Interior of the Islamic Republic of Iran, we are ready to implement a practical and joint step on Afghan soil, and if our agreements are fruitful, we are ready to invest in the Zero Border Zone and a joint special industrial zone to build granulation and concentrate factories. Today, we had meetings with respected Afghan officials and it was decided to examine various mines and submit necessary proposals for cooperation in them."

Zarandi added: "In addition to investing in mineral processing plants, the Mobarakeh Steel Group is ready to cooperate in training steelworkers and workers in the steel production chain. We have had the best technologies from different countries in Iran over the past years and are ready to provide our experience and knowledge to our friendly and brotherly country, Afghanistan."

The CEO of Mobarakeh Steel Group continued: "We are also ready to expand the export of our products through Afghanistan to other countries; of course, we have various mining industries in Iran, all of which have this capability. There are capabilities in Iran in the fields of building materials, tiles and ceramics, metals, lead and zinc, and copper, and this is a good experience that can be used."

He concluded by saying: "Iran and Afghanistan are two countries that speak the same language and are sympathetic, so we are interested in developing our relationship with Afghanistan. Count on our help for the development and progress of Afghanistan, because the Mobarakeh Steel Group is ready to serve the good and honorable people of Afghanistan with all its might."

It is worth noting that Seyed Mohammad Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, traveled to Afghanistan to meet and discuss ways to develop trade and economic cooperation with the country. Saeed Zarandi, CEO of the Mobarakeh Steel Group, was one of his companions on this business trip.
