me-metals: Hengyang Valin Steel Pipe awards Danieli with a new challenging project
According to me-metals cited from mining.com, Chinese seamless-pipe steel manufacturer Hengyang Valin Steel Pipe selected Danieli FQM® - Fine Quality Mill technology for its new hot-rolling production line for 800,000 tons per year of extra-large diameter seamless tubes, to be installed in Hengyang, Hunan province.
Thanks to this new investment, Hengyang Valin will produce seamless pipes with diameters ranging from 323.8 to 610 mm and wall thickness of 7.2 to 65 mm, for the energy and infrastructure sectors, on domestic and foreign markets.
The Danieli high-tech equipment will include a cone-type piercing mill, and an FQM-based retained mandrel mill coupled with a newly Danieli patent-pending extracting and sizing mills.
The extracting and sizing mills will be a 3-roll type, with a single drive and equipped with fixed and adjustable stands, with alternate bilateral changeover that boosts additional technological and operational advantages.
The new line, which is expected to be commissioned in summer 2026 will be run by Danieli Automation process control and systems.
