"The capacity of the refinery to produce gasoline will increase by 12mln to 15mln liters through inauguration of the third phase," Managing-Director of the PGSR Mohammad Ali Dadvar said, addressing a ceremony to inaugurate the third phase of the refinery.
He added that at present 31mln liters of gasoline is produced in two phases of the refinery, while the volume will increase to 45mln liters after the third phase will be fully operational.
In relevant remarks last month, Commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters Saeed Mohammad announced that the third phase of the PGSR would be accomplished before the yearend and the fourth phase would be constructed with 100% home-made parts.
"The contractor's timetable for the completion of the third phase of PGSR was the end of this year, but we have plans to launch it in the Ten-Day Dawn-celebrations marking the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution (February 1-11)- and this phase will reach full capacity before the month of Bahman (to start on January 21)," Mohammad told FNA in December.
He added that operations in the civil section of the fourth phase of the PGSR started in September, adding that a 24-month-timeline had been set for its completion.
"This refinery will actually be a 100% Iranian complex, meaning that the designing and the parts used in its construction are 100% Iran-made," Mohammad said.
The Persian Gulf Star Refinery, also known as Bandar Abbas Gas Condensate Refinery, is a new gas condensate refinery developed near Bandar Abbas, Iran.
It has a processing capacity of roughly 360,000 barrels of gas condensate.
Dadvar had in November put the output of the refinery at 30 million liters per day.
He said that the capacity would reach 44 million liters per day by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2019) once the third phase of the refinery comes on stream.
