Growing path of Iran's economy in past 4 years

The report deals with the four years of President Rouhani’s Government indicating that in spite of the recession in 2013, Iran's economy has quickly recovered and followed a positive trend in the following three years.

According to the report, Iran's economic growth rate in the last Iranian calendar year (started in March) reached 8.3% by fixedprices of 1997, while the growth (excluding oil) hit 6.3%. In 2015, an increase of 0.7% was reported.Over the past four years, Iran's economy (excluding the construction sector) has grown steadily.The negative growth of 1.8% in 2013 was recovered in the coming years reaching a positive stance. Thus, in 2016, most of the economic sectors witnessed a boost, but during this period,the trend of building industry has always been negative.


In 2013, except the agricultural group, all sectors and groups faced a downward trend, and the mining sector has experienced the worst possible condition.
Since 2014, the industry achieved an impressive progress and reached 4.1% growth.The industry and mine sector's boost in 2016 was 11.3%, while the share of the industry was 6.5%. Likewise,the mining sector reflected a dramatic increase of 57% compared with the preceding year. The industry and mine group consist mines, oil and natural gas extraction, the supply of water, electricity, and natural gas and construction. According to the Statistical Center of Iran, oil and gas extraction are considered as a subsidiary of the mining sector and are the main contributors to the sector's growth.
The report reveals that GDP growth in agriculture group (including agriculture and fisheries) was 5% in 2015-16. On the other hand, an increase of 7.1% is recorded in the service groups ranging from retail and wholesale to hotels ,restaurants, transportation, warehousing, communications,financial intermediation, real estate, leasing and business services, public affairs, education, health and social work, as well as personal and household services.
