The prices have dropped down from five year high levels of USD 108/MT, CFR China recorded towards beginning of the week. Prices have recorded decline amidst easing supply post Vale announcement of lower risk at collapsing of Gongo Soco mining pit.

West India (Rajasthan) based pellet maker - Jindal SAW has decreased pellet offers by INR 200/MT (USD 3/MT). Current offers for Fe 63% grade pellets have moved down to INR 8,300/MT (delivered Kandla) against the previous assessment of INR 8,500/MT at last week. Jindal SAW runs a 1.5 MnT pellet plant in Bhilwara (Rajasthan).

Central India based pellet maker - Shri Bajrang Power and Ispat Ltd has concluded two pellet export deals recently. SteelMint has learned from company officials that the deal has been concluded at around USD 117/MT, CFR China . Material shipment is scheduled for June.

Chinese spot iron ore fines prices this week have dropped yesterday by USD 4/MT to USD 90.2/MT, CFR China against USD 94.20/MT, CFR China towards last weekend. The prices have softened amidst low buying interest from Chinese mills post mills reopened on Monday after week long New Year holidays. The Chinese mills also seem to have enough stocks to fulfill demand in upcoming days.
