He added that Iran exported these products to Iraq, Armenia, Oman, Qatar, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, India, Pakistan, Kuwait, Indonesia, Georgia, Korea, Russia, Sudan, Ivory Coast, Hong Kong, Germany, Spain, Italy, Vietnam, Taiwan, Greece, Jordan, Malaysia, Thailand, Poland, Albania, Egypt, Georgia, China, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Kenya, South Africa, Kazakhstan, Tanzania.
However, he noted that China, Iraq, and India are Iran’s main stone export destinations.
“As the main global exporters of sand and stone, the US, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Australia, and France account for 70% of the world market in this field,” Latifi said.
In a relevant report it was announced last year that Iran exported about 13 million tons of decorative and facade stones in the previous local calendar year (March 21, 2018- March 20, 2019), Vice Chairman of Iran Stone Association (ISA) Malek Rahmati said in June 2019, adding that the figure shows his country is among the top 5 producers in the world.
