India: OMC Lowers Chrome Ore Base Price by 5% for August Auctions

The Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd intends to sell various grades of chrome ore (friable) produced at South Kaliapani chromite mines and Sukrangi chromite mines of OMC Ltd in the Sukinda valley of JK Road Region, Jajpur Dist Odisha.

OMC Ltd and BC Mohanty and sons Pvt Ltd., has decided to use the service of MSTC Ltd (a Govt. of India Undertaking) to conduct e-auction for selling off its (OMC) chrome ore. The total quantity offered for the e-auction from Sukrangi and South Kaliapani mines is 34,200 MT. The bid value quoted shall be the basic price in Rupees per WMT (Wet Metric Ton) for the mineral inclusive of Royalty and exclusive of Cess and other statutory duties and levies etc. applicable at the time of supplies will be extra and payable by the successful bidder. For south Kaliapani and Sukrangi Mines, the minimum quantity to be bid is 100 MT, thereafter in multiples of 100 MT. OMC lowered the base prices of all grades of Chrome Ore by approximately 5% for August Chrome Ore Auctions in line with tepid Ferro Chrome demand and sluggish Stainless Steel Market.

BC Mohanty and Sons Pvt. Ltd., is also set to conduct the e-auction on 17 Aug’19. Total quantity offered in the auction from Kamarda Chromite Mines, B C Mohanty & Sons Pvt Ltd is of 1080 MT(approx.). Lot size shall be of 180 MT each. The intending bidders can bid for 180 MT or any quantity multiple of 180 MT. Base Price for Low Silica Chrome Concentrate is at Rs 15,000/- per MT. Delivery Period is 30 days from the date of contract. The price per MT offered by the successful bidders at the time of e-auction is exclusive of taxes. Goods & Services Tax (GST) as applicable shall be charged extra. Any other taxes and duties (if any) are applicable extra. A successful bidder shall be allotted the quantity it quoted at the price/final price offered by it is subject to approval by the seller.
