Central India Mills Source Pellets from Odisha Over Cost Competitiveness

According to market sources report to SteelMint, central India based sponge makers have sourced pellets from Odisha recently.

According to market sources report to SteelMint, an Odisha based based pellet maker concluded deal to Raigarh for around 10,000 MT pellet at around INR 5,600/MT (ex-plant). The pellet maker reported another deal for 5,000 MT pellet to a Durg based steel plant at around INR 5,700-5,850/MT (ex- plant). The freight charges to Durg is at around INR 850/MT.

As per SteelMint’s assessment, Raipur (Central India) based pellet manufacturers this week kept the pellet offers stable W-o-W at INR 6,800/MT (ex-Raipur, GST extra). Raigarh based pellet makers offer assessed at INR 5,800/MT (ex-plant).

Indian pellet exports market have also witnessed rise since last week. A central India based pellet maker concluded 50,000 MT pellet (2% Al) deal at around USD 135/MT, CFR China. Also, towards last week, BRPL concluded a pellet export deal to China for regular grade pellet (Fe 64%, Al 3%) at USD 135/MT, CFR China.
