World Crude Steel Output Stable in Jan’19

According to the recent data released by World Steel Association (WSA) total crude steel production of 66 steel manufacturing countries inch up by 1% to 146.70 MnT in Jan’19 as compared with 146.64 MnT in Dec’18.

However on yearly basis world steel output increased by 1% in Jan’19 against 145.18 MnT in Jan’18.

SteelMint has analyzed world’s crude steel production numbers of major steel producing countries -

China’s crude steel output inch down by 1% M-o-M in Jan’19- China crude steel output 1% to 75.01 MnT in Jan’19 which was 76.12 MnT in previous month. However on Y-o-Y basis the same rose by 4.3% in Jan’19 against 71.88 MnT in Jan’18.

India's crude steel output up by 2% M-o-M in Jan’19- Indian crude steel output move up by by 2% to 9.18 MnT in Jan’19 which was 9.01 MnT in Dec’18. However on yearly basis the same inch down by 1.9% against 9.35 MnT in Jan’18.

Japan’s crude steel output declined by 4% M-o-M in Jan’19- Japan crude steel output moved down by 4% to 8.14 MnT in Jan’19 which was 8.46 MnT in Dec’18. Meanwhile on Y-o-Y basis nation’s crude steel output fell by 9.8% in comparison to 9.02 MnT in Jan’18.

United States crude steel increased marginally in Jan’19- USA crude steel output stood at 7.64 MnT in Jan’19 up by 2% against 7.48 MnT in Dec’18. However on yearly premise nation’s crude steel output moved up by 11% against 6.89 MnT in Jan'18.

Crude steel production of other top steel producing countries in Jan’19 is as follows Russia:5.79 MnT, South Korea: 6.21 MnT, Brazil: 2.93 MnT, Turkey 2.56 MnT and Germany at 3.41 MnT.
