International Tender to Develop Mehdi Abad Lead and Zinc Mine
Manager of Mehdi Abad Lead and Zinc Complex announced that public call for international tender to attract investment for equipment and preparation of this mine will be held soon.
Amin Safari explained that equipment and preparation of Mehdi Abad lead and zinc mine and construction of processing plants (capacity of 800 thousand tons or its equivalent) are the main parts of this project.
The call for tender will be held in two phases and announcement will be published during the current month. Related documents are prepared by cooperation of domestic and foreign consultants, he added.
According to this report, Mehdi Abad lead and zinc mine has considerable reserves nearly 154 million tons with average karat of 6 percent zinc,2 percent lead and 44 gram per ton silver. This reserves includes 85 million tons zinc sulfide (6.8 percent karat) and 69 million tons zinc oxide with 5 percent karat. Also this mine has 124 million tons Barite ore (Barium Sulfate).
