Implementation of heavy equipment installation operations at the oxygen plant of the Songun Copper Complex
me-metals: The manager of the Songun Copper Complex in Varzeghan announced the implementation of the installation of heavy equipment for the oxygen plant as part of the Songun Copper Cathode Plant construction plan, saying: This unit is one of the key parts of the cathode plan and plays an important role in providing the oxygen needed by the smelter.
According to me-metals cited from Mes Press, Asghar Bagherian stated that the Songun copper cathode project is being implemented with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of cathodes, adding: "The overall progress of the project so far is about 60 percent, and this project includes six main independent plant complexes, including smelting, sulfuric acid, oxygen, refinery, slag flotation, and utility units, which have been defined as an integrated unit."
Referring to the implementation process of the oxygen plant, he stated: This unit is designed to produce 32,000 cubic meters of pure oxygen annually, and in addition to oxygen, by-products such as argon and nitrogen will also be produced.
Referring to the installation of the main equipment of this unit, the manager of the Songun Copper Complex stated: "In the cold box section, which is considered the heart of the oxygen plant, the installation of structures, main towers, and high-tonnage heat exchangers is underway, and a significant portion of the heavy equipment of this unit has been installed."
Bagherian added: "The implementation of this operation will play an important role in completing the smelter's infrastructure and reducing the complex's dependence on external supplies of industrial gases."
