Mobarakeh steel has made good progress in green steel production ahead of global competitors

On the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the 1402 Steel Symposium, Gholamreza Salimi, Vice President of Operation of Mobarakeh Steel Company, while expressing his satisfaction with holding the 1402 Steel Symposium with the focus on green steel, said: Green steel is a new technology in the world, while in the past years, with technology We were far from the world, but we have made good progress in the field of green steel.

Setting up a solar power plant to achieve green steel production in Mobarakeh Steel

He continued: "We are one step ahead of other steel companies in the field of green steel at Foulad Mubarakeh according to the usual routine, which includes the launch of a solar power plant, which will have the first phase of 22 megawatts in operation by the end of the year and by the first half of the year. Next year, the electricity production of this power plant will reach 100 megawatts.

The vice president of operation of Mobarakeh steel company said that the use of green electricity is the first step to achieve green steel and continued: In this field, we are moving forward and we have succeeded. He stated that the use of gray hydrogen, blue hydrogen and green hydrogen in green steel and also green hydrogen in steel is considered, and he clarified that: the sea water transfer project for use in Mobarake steel is also on the agenda, which will be completed in Isfahan at the end of this year. exploitation will arrive and this is a suitable infrastructure for using hydrogen to produce green steel.

Green steel production is a must

Salimi said: Although the green steel production process is costly and expensive, but with a long-term view, we find that this production method is cost-effective, and in the next decade, this will become a requirement.

He continued: In the discussion of steel production technology, in Mobarakeh Steel, we have 50% less carbon production compared to blast furnaces, and this is an advantage that has put us ahead of other companies, but this should not stop us from slow down our movement to reach the green steel.

The vice president of operation of Mobarake steel company, pointing out that a road map has been considered in the field of green steel production, which includes energy supply to raw materials, continued: This chain should be determined and implemented in the second phase.

The necessity of using knowledge bases and artificial intelligence to produce green steel

He stated that to achieve green steel, we must take advantage of the capacity of knowledge bases and artificial intelligence, adding: Artificial intelligence is a powerful tool today in all fields of technology and we must take advantage of it.

Regarding the study plan to reach green steel in Mobarake Steel, Salimi said: In this field, the initial phases have been implemented and we have new plans that should be further investigated.
