Over 130 power stations fully operational in Iran: CEO

Managing Director of the Thermal Power Plants Holding Company Abdolrasoul Pishahang said on Monday that 132 power plants are currently producing electricity at full capacity in Iran.

Pishahang noted that 4,300 MW of electricity has been added to the production capacity of thermal power plants since mid-March, ILNA reported.

“During the days of peak consumption of summer, we make our efforts to minimize the emergency shutdown of stations and have all the power plants operational in full production capacity,” he added.

The old power plants have been improved and increased their production by about 2,000 MW compared to last Iranian year through overhauling and maintenance operation, the official said.
“The staff of the Thermal Power Plants Holding Company across the country are working in difficult conditions of summer days to have no problem for supplying electricity to customers,” Pishahang concluded.
