Vice Chairman and top managers of KOBELCO presented their proposal for water and energy reducing consumption during a meeting with chairman of the board of IMIDRO.
Ken Hirose expressed that using this technology will lead to 40 and 5 percent reduction in water and gas consumption respectively while production will grow by 5 percent.
Chairman of the board of IMIDRO noted the use of new technology in existing plants in Iran and said: at first, Mobarakeh DRI units which are using Kobe steel-IRITEC technology will be reformed aimed at water consumption reduction by 40 percent.


He added that Mobarakeh steel as a result of using this technology will witness growth in production capacity and reduction in gas consumption in its DRI units. Also this project will lead to reduction of 3 million cubic meters water consumption.
Ken Hirose announced that KOBELCO will supply finance and prepare some facilities of Mokran sponge iron project with using new technologies.
Chairman of the board of IMIDRO expressed that financing Mokran sponge iron is in line with $10billion agreement between Iran and Japan last year which is supported by both governments.
