Two plants in Odisha are operational adhering to all COVID19 protocols laid down by the state and central governments. The plants are active with reduced workforce and resources. Vedanta is taking steps to prevent and mitigate the impact of COVID-19 with a focus on the safety and health of its employees and communities at large in, around and far beyond their plant areas.

Vedanta has rolled out a slew of initiatives in Kalahandi, Jharsuguda, and adjoining areas. 34,000 numbers of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) have been provided to the Government of Odisha. Over 2 lakh reusable masks have been distributed to people.
Vedanta has supported the 110-bedded COVID hospital in Jharsuguda with medical equipment such as ventilators, corona kits, oxygen concentrators, nebulizers, specialized medical gear and other critical infrastructure. The company has made available upto a month’s supply of rations to nearly 5,000 daily wage earners, slum dwellers, needy families and marginal households across both districts, according to the company.
Additionally, thousands of Vedanta employees and business partners in Odisha have voluntarily contributed one day’s salary for COVID relief, the company said.
