New Iran-Oman Shipping Route

The third shipping route between Iran and Oman will be launched in the coming days, says Hamid Zadboum, the head of Ports and Maritime Organization.
New Iran-Oman Shipping Route

During the Iranian month ending April 19, two routes for container shipping from Iran's port city of Bandar Abbas located in the southern Hormozgan Province to Oman’s Port Sultan Qaboos (the largest port in Muscat) and Al Suwaiq Port were launched to chiefly carry food, agricultural products, fruits and vegetables there, he added.

The new route will be launched from Jask Port, also located in Hormozgan.

“The launch of these direct shipping routes between Iran and Oman is in line with agreements made in the last meeting of the two countries’ joint economic commission. Direct shipping routes provide shorter time and distance between the ports and result in lower transportation costs,” he was quoted as saying by IRIB News on Friday.
