The plant has an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tonnes. The products are used in the automotive, aerospace, ship building, rail and packaging sectors.

Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI said, “We congratulate Tianjin Zhongwang Co., Ltd. on their recent ASI Performance Standard Certification. It is important to see large production facilities throughout the world stepping up with an initial and ongoing commitment to responsible practices through ASI Certification.”

The ASI Certification program is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process. The independent, third-party audits of the Tianjin Zhongwang Co., Ltd. facility was carried out by TÜV Rheinland Cert GmbH.

Mr. Wang Fei, Chairman of Tianjin Zhongwang Aluminum Co., Ltd. said, “Obtaining ASI certification is only the first step. We will continue to follow the relevant guidelines of the ASI performance standard as the basis of corporate governance, commit to operating in a sustainable manner and a commitment to sustainable improvement, and practice our responsibility. The commitment of aluminium production as a goal minimizes environmental impact.”
