According to spokesperson of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration, Rouhollah Latifi, related organizations are in talks with the Iraqi side to reopen the crossing and resume trade via this border, ISNA reported.
Trade between the two sides is currently underway through border crossings with the Iraqi Kurdistan, namely Parvizkhan, Tamarchin and Bashmaq.
That is to say Shalamcheh, Chazzabeh, Mehran and Khosravi crossings are closed for commercial exchanges.
These crossings, Latifi said earlier, will remain closed for trade until April 15.
According to Director General of Kurdestan Veterinary Administration Mojtaba Varmaqani, Iran's first consignment of frozen chicken in the new Iranian year (started March 20) was exported to Iraq via Bashmaq border. As he noted, 24 tons of chicken produced in Iran's western Kurdestan Province were exported to the neighboring country, IRNA reported.
A total of 766 chicken farms are operating in the province.
Iraqi is the main destination of Iranian exports among neighboring countries.
