On 31st March’20, ITC stated that the investigation focuses to examine whether there is a sensible indication that an industry in the U.S. is materially injured or threatened with the material injury because of imports of common alloy aluminium sheet.
The Commission started the probe on 9th March and must reach a preliminary determination in antidumping and countervailing duty investigations in 45 days or this case by April 23rd.
The investigations follow petitions filed by the U.S. Aluminum Association’s Common Alloy Aluminum Sheet Working Group, alleging that common alloy aluminium sheet imports from Bahrain, Brazil, Croatia, Egypt, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Korea, Oman, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, and Turkey are sold at less than fair value.
The association also accused the production of aluminium alloy to be subsidized by the governments of Bahrain, Brazil, India, and Turkey.
