Most Workplace Fatalities in Construction Sector
Workplace accidents claim the lives of 1,500 people on a yearly basis, deputy roads and urban development minister, Hamed Mazaherian, said.
“About 60% of worker deaths are attributed to accidents in the construction sector,” IRNA quoted Mazaherian as saying. According to the International Labor Organization, more than 337 million accidents happen on the job worldwide each year, resulting, together with occupational diseases, in more than 2.3 million deaths annually.
