The contribution of ideas toward the construction and completion of the draft of the XIII Party Congress Document on socio-economic issues by the Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, as the head of the Subcommittee.

The matter is of great strategic significance, contributing to creating a large revenue source for the State Budget to help promote the country's socio-economic development.

The Vietnam Association of KTMT evaluates Bauxite as a mineral resource with large reserves and value in the largest category of our country today.

It has been estimated that the Central Highlands bauxite ore has reserves of about 7 billion tonnes, capable of producing 1.7 billion tonnes of alumina that can be exploited and processed more smoothly at this time.

Starting from the actual execution of Bauxite mining and processing activities at two factories of the Vietnam Coal and Minerals Group in Lam Dong and Dak Nong, the Vietnam Association of NUCs with the participation of scientists and experts Leading minerals in Vietnam have researched, surveyed and practical experiments to produce valuable scientific reports, meaning to apply the development of Bauxite mining industry.

According to scientists, Vietnam has perfected the technology of processing Bauxite into aluminium. Currently, the technical staff and workers in Vietnam have well-operated technology equipment and can expand production scale themselves.

The price of aluminium today and in the next period (2020-2030) is much higher than the production cost, so it will generate huge profits. If the market is as favourable as it is today, the mining and processing of Bauxite ore into alumina can generate a net profit of about US $ 200 to 300 billion, as that can be a major source of revenue for the country.

Primarily, due to concerns about environmental issues in Bauxite mining and processing, the scientists assessed that Bauxite mining does not cause loss of land but takes advantage of the ore tail mud that has to be buried in lakes. Containing and returning to the mining pits will create more fertile arable land, nor deplete the water source.

The Vietnam Association of KTM said: “With a large amount of bauxite resistance as mentioned above and the technological process has been successfully tested at two alumina plants Tan Rai, Lam Dong and Nhan Co, Dak Nong; We need to improve the scale of Bauxite mining and processing effectively, exploiting in parallel with environmental protection. This is the time to seize the golden opportunity to contribute to the country's economic development.”
