Iran’s Steel Production Rise by around 9% Y-o-Y

Iran’s steel output was recorded at 39.46 MnT during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (21 Mar'19 - 20 Jan'20) to register a Y-o-Y rise of 8.79%.

According to the Iranian Steel Producers Association's latest report, semi-finished steel made up 22.87 MnT of the total output, up 11% Y-o-Y. Billet and bloom production was recorded at 13.95 MnT while that of slab was at 8.91 MnT to register a 19% Y-o-Y rise and 1% Y-o-Y decline respectively.

Meanwhile, finished steel output hit 16.59 MnT mark to book a Y-o-Y growth of 6%.

-- Long steel products had the major share in finished steel production with 8.41MnT, up  8% Y-o-Y. Rebar had the major share in the category with 6.79MnT (up 8% Y-o-Y)

-- While, flat steel production reached 8.17MnT by posting a 4% Y-o-Y rise. HRC production was recorded at 6.92 MnTby registering a Y-o-Y growth of 5%, followed by CRC with 2.17 MnT (up 4% Y-o-Y)

Direct-reduced iron production stood at 23.68 MnT during the ten-month period, indicating an 8% rise Y-o-Y.
