China’s NEVs production falls 37% YoY in November

China’s production of automobiles came in at 2.59 million units in November. This was up 13% month-on-month and 3.8% year-on-year, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) said on Tuesday, 10 December 2019.

Auto sales in China stood at 2.46 million units in November, with a month-on-month increase of 7.6%. The auto sales dropped 3.6% year-on-year, smaller than a decline of 4% in the previous month.

In the first eleven months of 2019, automobiles production amounted to 23.04 million units, down 9% year on year, while auto sales fell 9.1% to 23.11 million units.

Production of new energy vehicles fell 36.9% from a year earlier to 110,000 units last month.  NEVs sales also dropped by 43.7% year-on-year to 95,000 units.

Sales of pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids accounted for 81,000 units and 14,000 units, down 41.2% and 54.4% on a yearly basis.

In January-November, the output of NEVs came in at 1.09 million units, an increase of 3.6% YoY while sales rose by 1.3% to 1.04 million units.
