Ali Reza Bakhtiari, owner and managing director of the media group, said the new service is in line with his declared policy to help “promote the free market, competiveness and openness.”

Regarding the team that will feed the bourse website, he said, “Their mandate is to premised on expanding and augmenting transparency and information in the capital market.”

The website at www.donyayebourse.com provides corporate, industry and macroeconomic analysis and news ranging from trade data to corporate briefings. It covers both qualitative and quantitative data, news and figures. The service, whose name literally means “the world of bourse”, aims to provide critical information to securities market players instantaneously. It is fully paid and only provided in Farsi. The annual subscription fee is $300 at market exchange rate for a single user.

The website provides information about stocks, currencies, housing, bonds and commodities, including crude oil and gold, said Bijan Bahman-Nejad, the head of Donya-e-Eqtesad Market Desk.

“We will present 15 to 20 articles on the global economy, as half of Iran’s market is influenced by global events, and there has been a void in this area,” he said.

It has a polling section where investors and analysts predict the next market trend every week. The feature is based on a similar service provided by Kitco.com, a world-renowned website on precious metals.

  Latest Venture

Donya-e-Bourse is the most recent venture launched by Bakhtiari, who is the managing director of Donya-e-Eqtesad, Iran’s most widely read Persian-language economic daily, which has been publishing for the past 15 years. He also is the managing director of Financial Tribune. Bakhtiari started expanding his media corporation in recent years. Now his media group includes Tejarat-e-Farda weekly, now in its 205th issue, Eghtesad News website, Donya-e-Eqtesad Research Institute and Donya-e-Eghtesad Publishing House.

Donya-e-Bourse is partnered by Donya-e-Eqtesad, Rayan Bourse and Tehran Securities Exchange Technology Management Company.

Rayan Bourse is the operator of codad.ir, which is used by listed companies for posting their information and announcements. Tehran Securities Exchange Technology Management Company runs the data infrastructure of Tehran Stock Exchange and Iran Fara Bourse, while offering pricing and trading data about the markets and their listed securities.

Securities and Exchange Organization Chief Shapour Mohammadi, Bourse High Council member Hossein Abdoh-Tabrizi, TSE Chief Executive Hassan Qalibaf-Asl and Iran Mercantile Exchange Chief Executive Hamed Soltani-Nejad attended the inauguration of the website on Sunday. They all hoped Donya-e-Bourse will help replace misinformation and rumors in social media channels, which have gained currency in recent years, with genuine news and information grounded in economics.

Soltani-Nejad asked for increasing cooperation with the media company “to help transform IME into a large national institution”.
