“Our firms have undertaken reconstruction of Syrian water supply networks and electricity grid according to an agreement signed before,” Ardakanian said.
He noted that the Iranian companies will rebuild Syrian power grid on a three-year plan.
“The plan includes construction of power plants, repair of the damaged national grid and implementation of dam projects, the Iranian energy minister said giving the details of the mutual agreement.
In a relevant development in November, during a visit by Syrian Electricity Minister Mohammad Zuhair Kharboutli to Iran, the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding.
On the sidelines of the signing ceremony held in Tehran on November 2, Ardakanian said that Iran will interlink its power grid with that of Syria through Iraqi national grid in the near future.
