Addressing the East Azarbaijan province's tradespersons in Tabriz on Wednesday, Toumanian said that Armenia tries to keep global standards in its economic relations and supporting business people.
"Armenia is keen to boost trade and economic relations with East Azarbaijan province," he said, noting that information technology, agriculture, technical and engineering services, renewable energies, pharmaceutical, tourism, hotel industry and gas sector are among the areas of cooperation.
Director of Tabriz Chamber of Commerce Younes Jaeleh also told the same gathering that the meeting will help further improve bilateral relations.
He also said that Azarbaijan governor general invited Armenian ambassador to visit Tabriz in line with boosting bilateral relations.
In relevant remarks in November, Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri said that the Islamic Republic is determined to broaden its relations with the Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU).
“We have signed an agreement with the Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU) which can serve as a good start for the expansion of relations with the Union,” Jahangiri said in a meeting with Kyrgyz Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Tashkent.
He, meantime, pointed to Iran-Kyrgyzstan relations, and said, the two countries have good relations and that the cultural and historical commonalities of the two countries can pave the grounds for deepening of such cooperation.
