India: SAIL Invites Export Tender for 18,900 MT Billet

Steel Authority of India - a government of India Company has floated export tender for prime mild steel non-alloy concast billets. The tender quantity is reported to be 18,900 MT. The cargo will be shipped from Haldia port. The tender was put up for Prime Mild Steel Non-Alloy Concast billet, size 150*150 mm offered from IISCO Steel Plant.

The material has following specifications - C%: 0.17-0.23, Mn%: 0.50-0.90, S%: 0.05 Max, P%: 0.05 Max, Si%: 0.10-0.35

The said invitation bid service has been activated by SAIL for entry of data at 13:00:00HRS [IST] of 28 Oct’19.  The last date for bid submission is 31 Oct’19 by 15:30:00HRS [IST].

Last week, billet export offers from all the major markets witness a rise amid increase in Turkey’s imported scrap prices. According to SteelMint analysis, increasing Turkey’s imported scrap prices are intensifying the global billet market sentiments.

Last week, a deal of 40,000 MT was reported to conclude to SE Asia from Iran. The deal value was reported to be USD 347/MT, FoB and the shipment is schedule for Mid December. However, billet export offers from the country are standing at USD 345-350/MT, FoB Iran.

Earlier this month, Vizag Steel has concluded bloom export tender for size 150*150mm of quantity 40,000 MT (2 lots each of 20,000 MT) at USD 370-372/MT.

CIS billet export assessment stands at USD 360-370/t, FoB Black Sea.
