Hormozgan Steel Production Capacity to Reach 10MT

Steel production capacity in Hormozgan province will reach 4 million tons by the end of next Iranian year(will start March 2017) and 10 million tons by the end of Sixth Development Plan, First Vice President ,Eshaq Jahangiri announced.

Hormozgan province having 5800 kilometers coast is one of major steel hubs in the country but there just 4 or 5 percent of these coasts has economic activities so we should try to turn it to a development hub, during inauguration ceremony of first development phase of Kish South Kaveh Steel Co. in Persian Gulf Mining and Metals Special Economic Zone, Jahangiri said.
Bandar Abbas is Iran’s development hub and some of its major projects are Persian Gulf Star, shipbuilding and steel industry, he added.


Government, Parliament and private sector commitment to economic growth


Jahangiri noted the Government, Parliament and private sector commitment to grow country’s economy by applying resistance economy and said: “If we can provide an appropriate base for economic growth, we will overcome the economic challenges. So, country will enter a thriving period.
People’s satisfaction and welfare are very important for government so we should try to pay special attention to identification and implementation of projects such as improving business environment and electronic government in order to achieve more people’s satisfaction from results of “Prudence and Hope” government plans, he continued.
Iran’s economy is passing through development path and regarding to the operational capacities in Iran we can say Iran’s economy will achieve to a bright and promising future, First Vice President said.
