Indian iron ore exports volume in FY20 (Apr-Aug'19) witnessed at 9.54 MnT as against 2.46 MnT in FY19 (Apr-Aug). Also, the average global iron ore fines (Fe 62%) index witnessed 58% rise Y-o-Y to USD 104/MT, CFR China for FY20 (Apr-Aug) as against USD 66/MT, CFR China assessed in FY19 (Apr-Aug).
Rungta turned out to be India's largest iron ore exporter
Rungta stood the largest iron ore exporter in Aug’19 at 0.39 MnT, up 20% as against 0.33 MnT in July’19. SM Niryat stood second largest exporter and its exports picked 28% to 0.33 MnT, followed by Bagadiya Brothers at 0.31 MnT.
India iron ore exports to China up 7% in Aug’19
China continued to be the largest importer of Indian iron ore for the month of Aug’19 at 1.96 MnT, up 7% as against 1.83 MnT in July’19. The global supply crisis caused due supply shortage from Brazil and Australia continue to push Indian exports to China. Japan stood second largest importer at 0.08 MnT followed by Malaysia at 0.05 MnT.
Exports from Paradip port down 10% M-o-M
In Aug’19, Paradip port stood the largest exporter of Indian iron ore at 0.71 MnT, down 10% as compared to 0.80 MnT last month. Vizag port stood second largest at 0.46 MnT, followed by Haldia at 0.38 MnT and Gopalpur at 0.29 MnT.
