According to the official website of Payam International Airport & Special Economic Zone on www.payamaviation.ir, the investments will help create more than 1,700 jobs.
As the closest special economic zone to Iran’s capital city Tehran, Payam Special Economic Zone plays an important role in the country’s production cycle and job creation. The zone has attracted many companies and investments in ICT and knowledge-based areas.
Payam SEZ is spread across 3,600 hectares.
Over 300 firms in the fields of pharmaceuticals, health, oil & gas, medicine, information technology and ICT are operating in the zone.
Payam International Airport, located at the heart of SEZ, is currently out of service after a plane crashed at the airport in January.
