According to Hossein Sabouri, the head of the company, the system will become available for customers through a website and a smartphone application, operates with the urban location-based data, geographic information system and the system for the registration of electric disturbance events, the company's website Tbtb.ir reported.

The website's address and the source from which the customers can download the application are yet to be announced.

Sabouri noted that the new smart facility provides customers with a timetable of probable power outages planned by Iran Power Generation, Distribution and Transmission Company (Tavanir), in an effort to ease pressure on power producers and distributors.

"People will be able to easily download and install the application, or visit the system's website to receive a timetable of power cut plan in their area, if any," he added.

In the hot summer days, due to the citizens' massive use of air conditioners and chiller systems, which put extra pressure on power supplying centers, the electricity networks are more likely to face power failure and cuts.

In an effort to control and balance power consumption throughout the city, especially to limit the customers with high power consumption, preplanned power cuts are implemented by Tavanir.
