SMS GROUP concentrates expertise in the areas of intralogistics, aviation and surface treatment

SMS GROUP concentrates expertise in the areas of intralogistics, aviation and surface treatment

The objective of the new enterprise is further expansion of business in the areas of intralogistics, aviation and surface treatment.

SMS Logistiksysteme, based at Netphen in Germany’s Siegerland, has been creating individual logistics and service solutions for the steel and non-ferrous metal industries for over 60 years and is amongst the world’s leading providers in this market. Since 2013, SMS Logistiksysteme has also offered customer-specific storage, transport and handling systems for air cargo terminals under the new brand name ACUNIS.

CTI Systems has been a leading supplier of tailor-made turnkey systems in the areas of intralogistics and surface treatment and especially of aviation for over 50 years. At its company headquarters at Lentzweiler in Northern Luxembourg it generates innovative concepts for customers from all over the world.

Opening up new markets and gaining additional customers
Merging the two companies will smooth the way to further growth. Focus will also be on markets outside the steel and non-ferrous metals sector. Through the merger a global provider with annual sales of around 100 million euro and 300 employees worldwide will be set up. SMS Logistiksysteme will profit from CTI Systems' broad base, while CTI Systems will gain depth in its core field of intralogistics. Both companies are leading in their respective markets. Together they will be able to open up new sales potentials and so win more customers. This is to be achieved by means of a uniformly based worldwide sales and marketing organization. The service and automation segments will be additional drivers of future growth.

Innovative products and problem-free execution of major projects
The process of value creation will in future be shared between the two company locations. A functional organization will bring together the best solutions from both companies to guarantee even closer support for customers. Because of the size of the company created by the merger and with the support of SMS group GmbH and Paul Wurth S.A. the new enterprise will in future also be in a position to reliably execute a number of large-scale projects at the same time.

Merger
Company management will be in the hands of Bernd Klein (chairman) and Ernest Faber. The joint enterprise will in future operate under the new name AMOVA at the following addresses:
