About 3.9 billion shares valued at 15.79 trillion rials ($118.78 million) changed hands at TSE for the day.
Trading at TSE and over-the-counter Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.
Pars Agro Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 9.66% to 22,804 rials.
Iran Industrial Development Investment Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 8.01% to 3,168 rials per share.
Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Telecommunication Company of Iran, Mobile Telecommunication of Iran, and Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company.
Mobarakeh Steel Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Parsian Oil and Gas Development Company and Kharg Petrochemical Company.
However, stocks in the junior market, Iran Fara Bourse, performed differently with its main index IFX gaining 15.86 points or 0.53% to close Tuesday trade at 3,034.1.
About 1.25 billion shares and securities valued at 7.18 trillion rials ($61.56 million) were traded at the over-the-counter exchange for the day.
