Iranian Billet Export Market Update: Week 22, 2019

Iranian billet export offers reported majorly stable this week. According to SteelMint’s assessment, due to increase in Turkey’s scrap import prices last week, the Iran billet offers increased to USD 400/MT, FoB mark. Also, the boosted trade sentiments in CIS nations had set up the high price trade expectations for billet producers in Iran but no deal was reported at this price.
Iranian Billet Export Market Update: Week 22, 2019

In recent, a deal has been concluded to SE Asia from Iran, sources reported to SteelMint. The deal quantity was reported to be 30,000 MT billet at around USD 390/MT, FoB. The shipment is scheduled for Jul’19.

Following this, few major mills in Iran have raised offers to USD 395/MT, FoB.

Iran’s semi-finished steel output up 3% Y-o-Y – As per Iranian Steel Producers Association's, Iranian semi finished steel industry has registered a growth of 3% in output in the first month of Persian year (March 21-April 20) against same time frame last year. Semi finished steel production was reported to be 2.17 MnT. Billet and bloom together made up 1.24 MnT, up 16% Y-o-Y.
