Sangan Development Outlook

Director of Sangan Iron Ore Complex explained Sangan development plans including construction of 6 iron ore concentrate and 4 pelletizing plants.

Ali Sedighifar noted that construction of 6 concentrate plant with production capacity of 17.5 MTPY A and 4 pelletizing plants with production capacity of 15 MTPY are being operated by various companies.
He added that construction and operation of one concentrate and one pelletizing plant with capacity of 5 million tonnes per year are being conducted by Mobarakeh Steel Company so that pelletizing plant with 87 percent physical progress and concentrate plant with 30 percent physical progress will be launched in second half of the current Iranian year (2016-2017) and by the end of the year1396 (2017-2018) respectively.
One pelletizing plant with capacity of 5 million tonnes are being constructed and operated by IMIDRO and participation of private sector. Physical progress of this project is 72 percent and will be inaugurated in the first half of the next year, Sedighifar continued.
He noted to the first iron ore concentrate plant with production capacity of 2.6 MTPY is active now. The second plant with capacity of 2.4 MTPY by IMIDRO and participation of private sector is in the contract phase for construction.
Construction and operation of one concentrate plant and one pelletizing plant with production capacity of 2.5 MTPY by investment of National Development Company is being conducted which regarding to 77 percent progress of concentrate plant ,it is forecasted to be launched in 1396 (2017-2018),he said.
Construction and operation of one concentrate plant and one pelletizing plant with production capacity of 2.5 MTPY are being conducted by Kaveh Pars Mining Industries Holding .Also, Construction and operation of one concentrate plant with production capacity of 2.5 MTPY is being conducted by Khorasan Steel Company, Director of Sangan Iron Ore Complex said.

Strategic view

Sangan Iron Ore Complex’s view to Sangan mines and valuable reserves is a strategic view based on preservation of these resources and reserves which will be exploited in a 25-30 year period, he added.
