Zarshouran Gold Reserves Boosted

Recent explorations carried out by Iran Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization in Zarshouran Gold Mine have increased the mine’s proven reserves from 80 to 108 tons, according to Mohammad Reza Ahmadi, managing director of the mine.

Zarshouran produced 175 kilograms of gold bars and 110 kilograms of silver bars last year (March 2015-16). Ahmadi said the figures are expected to reach 600 and 300 kilograms respectively this year, IMIDRO’s news portal reported. Zarhsouran Gold Mine, which became operational in late 2014, is located 35 kilometers from Takab town in the northwestern province of West Azarbaijan.
