The Indian Directorate General of Anti-Dumping and Allied Duties under the Ministry Of Industry and Commerce has extended anti dumping duty on imports of Ductile Iron Pipes from China PR, falling under tariff of 73030030 & 73030090.

Earlier on 10th Oct'13, the government had imposed anti dumping duty. Duties were in the range of over USD 127.40 to USD 139.70/MT for the period of 5 years which was due to expire on 10th Oct 2018. However in recent notification the government has notified to further extend it for a month period till 9th May 2019.

Earlier to extend this duty, the application was filed by Electrosteel Casting Ltd., Srikalahasti Pipes Ltd., and Jindal Saw Ltd. They claimed that, the Pipe exported by China PR has injured Indian steel industry, there for anti-dumping duties should be extended to rescue industries.

The recent notification reads as and whereas, M/s Jindal Saw Limited filed a Special Civil Application No. 6896 of 2019 before the Hon’ble High Court of Gujarat and the Hon’ble High Court of Gujarat vide Judgement dated the 5th April, 2019, has ordered that-

-- The final finding impugned in this proceeding may not be acted upon till the next date of hearing.

-- The extension of anti-dumping duty ordered under the notification dated 09/10/2018 be further extended by respondent-Union of India for appropriate period, not less than
