TATA Steel and OMC in together comprised of 74% of the total Chrome Ore Production. The rise in OMC production was due to the onset of the dry season in Odisha. The production levels were back to normal levels after the dewatering of mines were complete.
Production level by Captive miners inched up by 1.5% on M-o-M. Balasore Alloys contributed the highest amount in the production of Chrome Ore, amongst the Captive mines in India.However, the production was 26% less than that of previous month. Meanwhile Ferro Alloys Corporation Limited(FACOR) and Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) increased their production by significant quantity.
Production levels by Merchant Miners were substantially high by 88% in Jan’19 as compared to the previous month. Production for TATA Steel stood at 218,559MT which was remarkably high by 74% in Jan’19 M-o-M. Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) remained the largest merchant Miner with 225,665MT production in Jan’19. Meanwhile production cuts by 21.56% in IMFA was observed.
A total of 75.79% rise was noticed in Jan’19 M-o-M. Meanwhile, a rise of 36% was noticed on a Y-o-Y basis. Such higher level of Production was not observed since Mar’18.
