2-Month Aluminum Output at 53KT

More than 53,000 tons of aluminum ingots were produced in the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 20-May 20, 2016), indicating a 2% decline compared with the corresponding period of last year.

This was announced by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization on its website.
Iran Aluminum Company accounted for over 25,700 tons of the overall figure, Hormozal Aluminum Company for more than 16,350 tons and Almahdi Aluminum Complex for about 11,000 tons.
With a combined annual production capacity of 470,000 tons, Iran’s aluminum companies produced 350,000 tons of aluminum ingots in the last Iranian year (ended March 19, 2016).
Iran is planning big for its aluminum industry, as it intends to attract $10 billion in foreign investment to boost production to reach an annual rate of 1.5 million tons within the next decade as stipulated in the 20-Year National Vision Plan (2005-25).
