According to Ramin Azari, the first flight will be from Gorgan to Rasht before it heads for Tabriz, the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development’s news service reported.
Referring to the other flight that would be launched in the new Iranian year, he said Gorgan-Aktau is highly important because it could also connect Gorgan to Moscow and link Iran's northern cities to Russia.
Gorgan Airport, located in the city of Gorgan in Golestan Province, currently operates 72 flights per week to Mashhad, Tehran, Kish, Zahedan and Bandar Abbas.
