Iran's Non-Oil Trade With Japan Dips 30%

Iran traded 444,423 tons of non-oil commodities worth $613.26 million with Japan during the first 10 months of the current fiscal year (March 21, 2018-Jan. 20), registering a 55.31% and 30.24% decline in tonnage and value respectively compared with last year's corresponding period, latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show.

Iran’s exports to Japan stood at 373,468 tons worth $208.46 million, down 57.7% and 44.19% in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year. 

Japan was Iran’s 21st export destination during the period.

Iran mainly exported gas condensates, methanol and floorings to Japan during the 10-month period.

In exchange, Japan exported 70,954 tons of goods worth $404.79 million to Iran, down 36.41% and 19.94% in tonnage and value respectively YOY. It was the 15th exporter of goods to Iran over the 10 months.

The imports mainly included auto parts, machinery and aluminum coil.
