According to NPC, the distributed control system (DCS) contract was signed on Saturday in the Arak Unit of PRTC between the company and Sabtech in the presence of the CEO of National Petrochemical Company (NPC), Behzad Mohammadi.

Based on the deal, DCS of refineries and petrochemical plants will be upgraded jointly by Sabtech and PRTC and will be gradually localized in Iran.

Speaking on the sidelines of a ceremony to sign the deal, the NPC CEO said PRTC had signed a contract with a domestic company for developing DCS systems.

DCS is regarded as the heart of a petrochemical plant which controls production and safety conditions.

A distributed control system (DCS) is a computerized control system for a process or plant usually with a large number of control loops, in which autonomous controllers are distributed throughout the system, but there is central operator supervisory control.
