Iran Ups Agro Exports by 59 Percent in 8 Months

Iran has considerably increased its export of agricultural products in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2018-November 22, 2018), a senior trade official announced.

"Some 2.31 million tons of fruits and vegetables worth $866 million were exported during the first eight months of the current year," Director General for Exports Coordination Office at Trade Promotion Organization Mahmoud Bazari said on Sunday.

He reiterated that the figure indicates a 59-percent growth in value of the exported agricultural products as compared with last year's corresponding period.

In a relevant development on Saturday, data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Costumes Administration showed that the value of Iran’s non-oil goods exported to the littoral states of the Persian Gulf in the past 8 months register a 38% increase, compared with the corresponding period in the last year, surpassing a total of $6.5 billion.

Iran’s exports of non-oil commodities to the Persian Gulf littoral states exceeded $6.5 billion during the past eight months of the current fiscal year (March 21- Nov. 21).
