Iran to implement new steel projects in Persian Gulf and Oman sea coasts, Mehdi Karbasian announced.

Regarding to the result of feasibility studies related to expansion of steel industry chain in energy, water and transportation sectors and proper conditions of Iran’s southern coasts, new steel projects will be implemented in these zones, Chairman of the board of  IMIDRO said.
Process of establishment IMIDRO and Danieli joint venture dubbed “Persian Metalic” in Chabahar free trade zone is progressing satisfactorily.
After implementation of this project, steel industry chain will developed including in concentrate, iron ore pellets, sponge iron and downstream products sectors, he added.
He pointed to mine sector as one of the main pillars of realization of resistance economy. Iran has potential to develop this sector due to raw minerals and required equipment which exist in the country.
In Iranian year 1394 (started on March 20) exploration projects in an area about 250 thousand square kilometers were continued.
We discovered 300 new promising zones and hope to achieve about 1 or 2 percent of big iron ore, copper and gold mines of the country in these zones, Karbasian said.
