"Georgia is committed to develop ties with Iran," the Georgian foreign minister said during the meeting in Tbilisi on Friday.
He, meantime, reiterated that there has been no change in Georgia's policy towards Iran.
The Iranian envoy, for his part, called for full implementation of visa-free regime for Iranian nationals.
He also underlined the need for closer cooperation between Tehran and Tbilisi in fighting organized crimes and drug trafficking.
The two officials discussed also the topics relevant to the February meeting of the two countries' joint consular commission.
In relevant remarks in February, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and former Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze in a meeting in Munich, Germany, discussed bilateral relations and mutual cooperation as well as regional developments.
During the meeting on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference in Germany, Zarif and Janelidze explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating Tehran-Tbilisi relations.
The two sides also discussed international and regional developments in Munich.
