91 Thousand Employees in Iran’s 5300 Mines

Statistical Centre of Iran released the statistical report of Iranian year 1393(ended 20 March 2015) which indicates that there are more than 5300 operating mines with 91 thousand employees in Iran.

Report of the Statistical Centre of Iran shows that in Iranian year 1393(ended 20 March 2015), of 5355 operating mines, 5199 (97.1 percent) and 156 (2.9 percent) mines were run by private and public sectors respectively. Also, sand mining decorative stones and stone have 1343,808 and 808 mines respectively.
Provincial distribution of mine shows that Khorasan Razavi, Kerman and Esfahan provinces have the most operating mines, 528,438 and 390 mines respectively.
According to mines survey results, in mentioned above period over $660 million were invested in Iran’s operating mines. Top 3 ranks of investment in mining sector were dedicated to Iron ore mines, decorative stones and sand mining respectively.
Private and public sectors share in investment in mining sector were 59.1 and 40.9 percent respectively. The most annual investment were in Kerman, Yazd and Hormozgan provinces respectively.
Total production value of operating mines in Iranian year 1393 (ended 20 March 2015) were $39 million and 830 thousand. Among these productions Iron ore, copper ore and decorative stones have the most annual production value respectively and among provinces Kerman, Yazd and Khorasan Razavi have the most annual production value respectively.

Survey results shows that operating mines of Iran have more than  91 employees including 21 thousand workers,26 thousand skilled workers,4400 thechnicians,5400 engineers ,15000 transportation workers and 18000 financial and administrative employees.
Employment share of private and public sectors were 85 and 15 percent respectively.
