Recently Mr. Jamshid Mollarahman, Head of IMIDRO announced “Equipment for Iran's first pellet plant is being installed in China. He added that the project, which is being jointly developed by Iran and China, is Iran's first pellet project overseas.
He added, “The role of the Iranian company is to provide the plant with technologies and equipment, the directors of the Mines and Metals Engineering (MME) Company have reviewed the process.”
Head of IMIDRO said that, “The plant with production capacity of 300,000 MT is expected to be commissioned next year. Representatives of China's CSTM company have expressed interest in signing a joint cooperation agreement by providing information on the project development process.
Executive Director of IMIDRO Hassan Karbaschi said that another program related to Iran's steel industry is being undertaken abroad. The private sector is working on a project in Oman. In case of success, that program will be implemented.
China continued to be the largest importer of Iranian iron ore for Oct'18 at 1.49 MnT, contributing 89% of total Iranian export share. The export to China witnessed 73% increase on monthly basis as against being 0.86 MnT a month before.
As per data, India imported 0.16 MT iron ore from Iran in Oct'18 at Mangalore port, up more than two folds as against 0.05 MnT a month ago. Iranian exports to Indonesia marked at 0.02 MnT in Oct’18 as against being nil a month before.
