IMIDRO to Inaugurate New Steel Projects
New steel projects will be inaugurated in the next month (May 2016), Chairman of the board of IMIDRO announced.
We will complete 7 provincial steel projects, two sponge iron production projects will be inaugurated in May 2016 and also three projects will be inaugurated by the end of the current Iranian year (will end on 21 March2017), in a meeting with employees of IMIDRO and its subsidiaries, Mehdi Karbasian said.
Importance of Foreign Investment Attraction
Our exploration projects will result in exploration of 2-3 mines. We require to attract foreign investment to continue our activities in these mines, he expressed.
IMIDRO started new exploration projects in an area of 250 thousand kilometers and spent over $33 million in exploration sector last year, he added.
During the last Iranian year (from 21 March 2015 to 19 March 2016), we inaugurated several important projects such as 100 percent increase in capacity of Persian Gulf Special Zone port (from 6 million tons to 12 million tons), unveiling of Iran’s first rare earth elements ingot and also inauguration of Zarand tar refinery power plant and potash project, Karbasian said.
